News and Announcements
After getting feedback from players and parents, we would like to organize pre-game meals for Away games this season. We need 1 volunteer from each team to be the food coordinator.
Food coordinator responsibilities:
*Create a sign-up that lists all away games for your team and send to the team (Sign-up genius is very helpful)
*Ask each family to sign-up for 1 match each (to start)
*Ask about allergies
*Get the cell number of your coach (they will contact you in case of cancellations & you will contact the person signed up that day)
*Add/remove/change matches as needed over the season
Everything must be individually wrapped. You’ll want to provide a main dish (CFA, sub sandwich, etc), sides (chips, fruit, dessert, etc) and a cooler of bottled water. Items prepared at home (brownies, grapes, etc), should be individually bagged before dropping off at school. Think easy to eat on a bus. Meals should be dropped off at the main desk at NHS before 2pm on match day to avoid all the buses. You’ll provide 1 meal for each athlete plus 1 for the coach.
Please let us know if you are interested in serving in this position for your athlete’s team.
We have volunteers to cover the varsity matches on Wednesday, January 27th already.
We tried to delay as long as possible so the courts would dry, but unfortunately they did not dry in time. So, practice at Amberfield is cancelled for today 1/25.
Coach Crain and Coach Pollitzer will contact the players with details about tomorrow’s practice.
Practice for JV Boys at Norcross has been cancelled for today 1/21. Practice for JV Girls at Amberfield is also cancelled for today 1/21.
Fortunately, the rain stopped for today. Unfortunately, it was not warm enough or sunny enough to dry off the courts in time for practice.
Please contact Coach Crain or Coach Stubbs with any questions!
The courts are too wet from the rain today. All practices today have been cancelled.
Players, use this time to catch up on some school work or extra studying. Once matches begin, if there continue to be rainouts (and there will), then our match schedule is going to get pretty crammed and both mentally and physically exhausting. Please try to get ahead in your classes so you are prepared for the challenges to come.
This week in Norcross High School Tennis:
- Please get your contact sheets and payments turned into the coaches no later than this Friday, January 22. We need to order uniforms and extra sweats.
- Your Serve Tennis Day: Shop this Friday at Your Serve in Johns Creek. Our team will receive a 10% donation on all purchases made. Make sure to mention Norcross High School Tennis!
- Court Clean Up Day: Saturday, January 23 10:00-12:00. We need to get the courts ready for the first matches of the season next week. Please bring yourself and tools to get the area in shape. We need some mulch, so if you are willing to pick up some, please let us know. Everything will be reimbursed by the booster club.
